I have no excuses, really for being so far behind in my blogging. A lot has happened in the past few weeks, however.
To start, my cousin, Colton, graduated from high school. We all went to dinner and then to the graduation. Colton is a super sweet kid!!! I love his excitement for life and passion for God! Here are some pictures of the night:
I am so proud of Colton and who he is. I know God is going to do big things with him!!!
Haylee and I went on our SKG date #6. (I know I have yet to post pictures from date #5 . . .and I do not have them with me at present, so we are skipping ahead). Date #6 was a friend date where we go on a shopping spree, looking for and buying clothes that are both fashionable and God pleasing. It is hard to buy clothes these days that don't show too much flesh! Haylee, however, is very good at picking out clothes that cover her body and look cute at the same time . . .I am so glad she has the desire to please God with her clothes, and pray that she continues to do so well into her teenage years!!! We took along her sweet friend Sidney (how is also going through SKG date book with her mom). The girls had lots of fun, and got some cute (and modest) new clothes.
The girls were each given a set amount of money to spend . . . and it was incredible to watch them actually care about how much clothes cost. I think from now on I will tell Haylee "You have "x" amount to spend today", so she will be more aware of spending too much on one item.
The date was lots of fun, and the girls even tried to ride a little ride . . .
In other news . . . Jody's step mom, Lynette, passed away a week ago. The funeral was this last Thursday. Jody and I, along with his cousin and uncle drove across Utah (the the East) to Vernal for the funeral. Friday we headed down to St. George (a trip that was all ready planned) to see Jody's dad. A lot of deceitful, sneaky things took place between Lynette's family and Jody's dad over the past few months, and Jody's dad did not attend the funeral. Our trip to see him was far from pleasant, as he is VERY sick, himself and dealing with the death of his wife of 23 years . . . on top of some legal issues that have come from Lynette's family. I feel very bad for Mark, that is his frail and sick condition, he may be forced to sale his house and give up half the money from the sale, along with much of his furniture. Please pray for this touch situation. While I agree Mark hasn't been the nicest, most loving person in the world, I hate to see a man in his condition, be forced out of his home.
I will try to keep my blog more updated!!!
Serving Him,
Jess
