Weekend of Celebration . . .

We had an exhausting, busy and really fun weekend! Seems like every weekend we have the girls from here until Christmas is chuck full of activities!!!! Friday night we set up Christmas decorations as it is the only free night we had with Haylee. The girls had lots of fun! It took us over 4 hours to set up the tree, the Christmas village and all the other little knick knacks that I have. The house looks so festive and fun now.

Here are the girls helping me put the tree together. They attached the branches and "fluffed" them up while I started on the lights!
When the tree was all decorated, Jody helped Autumn put the star on top! (Notice my Texas ornament front and center!!!)
The girls and I pose for a group shot!
We set the Christmas village up in our room on the dresser. Jody has decided he really likes it in there and we should keep it up year around . . . I have to disagree.
Here is a picture of the living room all decorated and ready for the holidays!
Our peaceful little village!
Saturday morning I got up early to start baking a princess castle cake for Autumn's birthday party which was Sunday. My first attempt at it failed big time. Frustrated, but not willing to give up, I ran to the store and bought more cake mix. We had Jody's family Thanksgiving party at his cousins house, so the cake would have to wait until Saturday night to get done.
The Thanksgiving party was lots of fun. Jody's family is great!Autumn, Haylee and their cousin Riley spent a lot of time in the backyard playing!

Getting our feast ready!!!
A cute one of the girls!
Saturday night we got home and I re-baked the cake. This time I froze the cake layers (4 of them) hoping that Sunday morning I could get up and frost the cake while it was frozen, making it easier to work with. Sunday morning I got up bright and early to put the cakes together. Things worked out much better this time around . . .I was very glad because if not I was headed for plan B . . .heading to WalMart to buy a cake! Here is a picture of the finished product!
The party started at 3 and we had a house full of people. I bought foam crowns for the girls to decorate and wear since we had a Snow White Princess party!

Afterwards we played a couple of games. One was like the one we played at Haylee's party where you have to roll a certain number on the dice and then put a hat and gloves on and unwrap a present. We also played BINGO!!
Little Abbey is only 3 and the hat and gloves were so big and cute on her!!!
Here is Dad calling out the BINGO pictures.

Then is was time for presents! Jody and I got Autumn a dollhouse and my mom, brother and Jody's mom helped by buying all the rooms to go in it! Autumn got so many presents. It is nice that she will finally have her own toys to play with . . . up until now she has really had to play with Haylee's things!
It was like Christmas for this child . . .she got soooo much stuff!!!

And last but not least it was time for cake and ice cream! I put the dollhouse together and Autumn and Haylee had fun playing with it!!!

By the time I got all the packing off the presents and we got them all put away, I was so exhausted! Autumn left with her grandparents for a 3 day vacation to Midway, UT. When she gets back into town on Wednesday she is going to her mom's for Thanksgiving. We will pick her up on Friday afternoonish!
Well, this is a short week and I am looking forward to a long weekend! Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll. Give thanks to God, for He is Good!!!!
Serving Him,
Jess

I love the one of Matt with his crown in the center of all the girls. It looks like a great party. Happy Thanksgiving.
