SKG #2 . . .

SKG stands for "Secret Keeper Girl" and that is what Haylee is becoming. The date book we are going through together is fitting Haylee for glasses that will allow her to see herself through God's eyes. Knowing that He made her just the way He wanted her and to Him, she is perfectly crafted!

We went on our 2nd SKG date last night! My long time friend, Melissa, is a Mary Kay consultant and was kind enough to teach Haylee and 2 of her friends (who are also doing the SKG dates with their moms) how to care for their skin. She taught us the steps we should take each day to protect and cleanse our skin. The girls had lots of fun!! Her are a couple pictures of the night!

Thanks Melissa for making this date so much fun!!!! After our face cleanse and hand scrub, Haylee and I left and spent time doing the "girl gab" portion of the date where we talked about different aspects of her face and body and how she feels about them. Overall, Haylee believes she is pretty, although when we talked about her legs and tummy, she made comments about being fat. This child is far from being fat!!! I am not sure if her comments were how she feels deep down, or stem from being part of a society of women that are constantly unhappy with their bodies, so she said that because that is what you are "supposed" to say about yourself. Either way, my prayer for Haylee is that she will only see the beautiful masterpiece that God has created her to be. I pray that she will have a healthy image of herself both now, and as she continues to grow. Please pray for her and pray for me that I will know when and how to encourage her!!! We talked about her unique features and how the things that make us different from others, is what makes us beautiful!
Our next date is called "A quiet encounter with God". I have booked a soothing bubble bath at a local day spa for her. Then Haylee and I will talk about having a daily devotional time with God and end the night with communion. Haylee is a sponge when it comes to the things of God, and I have a feeling this will be a favorite date for us both!
Serving Him,
Jess
