I LOVE summer. I cannot get enough flip flops, capris and sunshine!!!! Along with that, summer always brings with it lots of fun activities!!! A couple weekends ago we went to Kristie's bridal shower. It was lots of fun!!!
For Kristie's sake, I will not post ALL the pictures of her opening presents . . .but here are a few!
After she opened gifts we played a couple games. For one game we broke up into groups and using only toilet paper, we had to make a wedding dress.
On Friday Haylee and I had our SKG Date #7. This date was all about our call to be submissive. Now before you start throwing rotten veggies at me . . . I know submission (especially for a woman in our times) is not "cool". But it is Biblical . . .and really just a fact of life. We are all submissive at times whether we realize it or not. As a Christian we are submissive to God, and as Christian wives, we are submissive (in a Godly, not oppressive way). In Bible days part of the way a woman would express her difference from the world in her submission was to wear her hair long. So this date took Haylee and I to get her hair done. We went to see Ashley and Haylee got a somewhat new hairstyle!
I forgot to take my camera and had to use my phone for photos, so they aren't as clear.
Her Hair is a bit choppier then before and the layers are a bit shorter. She loves her new style!!! Haylee and I only have one SKG date left in this series. It will be at the end of August and involves taking Jody with us to a really nice restaurant. Big plans are underway to make this night as special and memorable as can be. Haylee and I will start a new SKG series in January that will lead us through new dates to help us discern good friendships in life! I have bought the book all ready and the dates look just as fun as this years!!!
This last Sunday we all gathered at my aunts house to celebrate my grandpa's 70th birthday party! I have lots of wonderful memories of my grandpa when I was growing up. He always liked to tease me!!!! My grandparents were very involved in my life and always took my brother and I camping, hiking etc. I remember sleeping over at their house and do small amounts of work with super good pay :o).
My cute little cousin Brodie picked out the perfect present for my grandpa . . .
Yes, this garden frog statue!!! Brodie is only 2.5 years old, and loves this frog . . .
Well, I think that gets me (or you rather) up-to-date on our happenings. We have no plans yet for this weekend, but I am sure we will find something fun to do (I am not good at sitting around).
Serving Him,
Jess

Rachelle's dress is my favorite!
I just love hearing about your skg dates. I can't wait for Allie to be old enough so that I can make that a part of our routine. Do you know if there's on for boys. It might do my son some good to have some sort of special date.
