It's Bittersweet . . .

A few weeks ago I found out that the last 3 Albertson's in Salt Lake were closing. I was totally bummed!!!! Although Albertson's is about the most expensive store around here, I had learned to combine store sales and coupons to get some killer deals there. Today started a 75% off clearance sale on most of the non-food items! I decided to stop by and see if there were any last deals to be had! After 2 hours, I left the store with a cart full of goodies, a 7 foot long receipt and a "savings high"!!!! At least 50% of what I bought was FREE!!! With 75% and my coupons, I was able to pay nothing, and at most 50 cents for everything I got, with the exception of the paper towels (which I still got at a bargain price)!!

I got home and examined my receipt more closely and discovered my true savings! I saved $67.10 in coupons and a whopping $230.69 in store discounts!!! That is a $297.79 savings off the shelf price. Below is a picture of what I got for $41.06!







I was soooo excited!! I called Matt and Kristie, and with them both being at work and unable to attend this glorious event, I went back to Albertson's and went shopping for them too! My coupon stack was a bit depleted (as was the merchandise) so they didn't get as much stuff, but they still got a great deal . . . I can't find the receipt, but their total was $7. I do know that before the discounts and coupons were subtracted, the total was around $110!!!!
I am now exhausted, but that sure was fun!!!!
