Catching Up . . .

My apologizes for my delayed post. I have been busy getting ready for Christmas, making my garage into a play room and so on.

This last weekend we weren't as busy as originally planned! Friday night we were going to go to a live nativity and out to see Christmas lights. However, snow started falling early Friday morning and did not stop until days end. Knowing it would be freezing cold out for the nativity, and the roads would be packed with both people and ice, we opted out of the planned activity. We "hunkered" down for the night and relaxed.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to Jody's cousin, Amber's, house for breakfast and ornament making. here are some pictures.
Amber read the kids a great story about a family who had a Christmas without an presents, but now grown, they writer only recalls that the Christmas was fun and filled with family memories. Each kid got to make an ornament to remember the year!We had a yummy breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, bacon and sausage!!! After the party we had to run Haylee across town to meet her mom for family photos (this is a sore spot with me as it seems her mom continues to plan things on our weekends . . . because the 25 days of the month she has Haylee is not enough to get things done, she has to plan things on our days . . . *stepping off soap box*)
Saturday evening we went to the theatre and saw "A Christmas Carol". This is a newer family tradition (I have been the past 4 years), and one that I hope we continue!!!! Sunday we went to church and then headed home. Mom and I have been working hard on turning my garage into a play room for the girls. Here are a couple pictures of the almost finished play room!!!
Hard to believe this was a garage about 2 weeks ago!!!!
In this picture you can see why this is ALMOST done. Directly behind the futon and toy shelf we are putting a curtain up to separate the playroom from the storage area. My mom and I created this space so the girls would have room to spread out and play!!

Today I went to Haylee's school to watch her sing in the school "Sing around the tree". I took some pictures of the 4th grade . . .but she is kinda hard to see because she was in the back!!

We are totally ready for Christmas . . .just waiting for it to get here. I wrote the girls both a letter (like I did to Haylee last year).

If you click on the letters, they will enlarge so you can actually read them!

I will post again after Christmas! Merry Christmas to ya'll!!!!
Serving Him . . . in the Manger,
Jess
