Happy Birthday Jesus . . .

Another Christmas has come and gone, and this is one, we surely wont forget!!! On Christmas Eve the girls made a birthday cake for Jesus and we went to Applebee's for lunch. We went to candlelight service at the church, which I always enjoy!!! After service we went to mom and dad's to open gifts!!! First the girls opened their pajamas!!
Mom told the girls that they needed to bring their Cabbage Patch Kids so they could be included on the festivities. So the next gifts to be opened were the pj's mom and I made for the dolls!

A few months ago we borrowed a few games from mom and dad . . .one of them was Sorry, which we have played every night since. Autumn told my mom that if she wanted her Sorry game back, she would have to buy another one!!! So Autumn got Sorry for Christmas from my parents!

The girls got everything they need for outdoor fun including sleds! Haylee made a comment about going down the stairs on the sleds . . . and my dad said they could!!!! WHAT!?!? The things grandkids can get away with!!!

Matt stood at the bottom of the stairs to catch them!
After opening presents, we went home and got the girls in bed. Then, Jody set up the Wii in the cabinet below the TV, and I got the rest of the presents under the tree and stockings filled.

5:30am came bright and early Christmas morning. Mom, dad, Matt and Jody's mom came over to watch the girls open presents!!! At about 5:50 we got a call from Jody's mom and she was stuck in the snow about 2 blocks from us. The road we live off of has a huge field on he other side and when the wind blows all night (as it did Christmas Eve), the snow drifts are HUGE!!! Matt Jody and dad tried to get her out, but couldn't. We went on with Christmas morning, waiting for the weather to calm down.
The girls opened the Wii first . . .and I would not be surprised if all the neighbors heard the screams (mostly from Haylee). They were jumping all over in disbelief. It was fun to watch them!!!

I got a Wii Fit . . .which I LOVE! It is lots of fun!!!

Here is a picture of the storm that kept us locked inside until about 3pm. Funny thing is, when we finally got dug out (with a front-end-loader from the city) 2 blocks away the streets were a little wet,and no snow!!! It was like the twilight zone!!! The snow drifts were at least 9 feet high!
While we were stuck inside, we played games and ate!
The girls made lip gloss and perfume with the Spa Factor kit Haylee got.

Jody got Cabela's Big Game Hunter for the Wii, and with every shot at the deer or Elk, these three would get a step closer to the TV!!!

Saturday was Jody's birthday and we went to the movies. We only had Autumn with us, but picked up Haylee on our way to church on Sunday morning. After church we went to Sugarhouse Park for some sledding!!!!

The girls flew down the hill! I went a couple times and my rear end was cursing me the next day! I can't take those bumps like I used too (despite the extra padding I have these days)!!!!
After sledding we went home and Matt met us in he field across from the house with his snow mobile. He hooked up a sled behind it and pulled the girls around. Matt even gave Jody and I a ride around (sorry Kirby, you would have loved it!!!).
I have been able to work from home this week, and the girls have had fun playing with all their new toys.
We are spending New Years Eve at my parents and I am sure I will have pictures!!!!
Have a Blessed New Year, an I will post again in 2009!!
Serving Him,
Jess
