Happy Thanksgiving. . .

We had a wonderful, long, Thanksgiving weekend! With so much to be thankful for, the events of the weekend were just a bonus!
A few stores are actually open on Thanksgiving Day and they have some good sales, so mom, dad and I did a little shopping first thing Thursday morning. We went back to mom and dad's house and relaxed a little before getting things ready for dinner (of course mom had done alot of preperation Wednesday, like making pies). Family started arriving around noon and we ate around 2:30 . . . here are a few pictures of the day!

Here is the table all ready to be covered in food.
Matt is trying to decide if he can carve the turkey with a pocket knife . . .I think not!
Paxton and Travis are ready to eat!!!

The meal was delicious and the fellowship was great! After everyone left and we had cleaned up, mom and I sat down with all the ads to see what good bargains we couldn't miss the Day after Thanksgiving. We knew the number one stop was Sears to get a TV for our living room (and for better Wii playing!!). Sears opened at 5am, so mom and dad were to pick us up at 4:15am.

Friday morning came bright and EARLY!!! My alarm went off at 3:30 and Jody was all ready awake. Like a kid on Christmas morining, he proudly announced that he was too excited to sleep anymore! We got up and headed to Sears to wait in line (both outside and inside). We had great success in buying our TV, and it only took us an hour once inside the store . . .not too bad considering how long the lines were. Here is our new TV comfortably set up in it's new home . . .

After we got the TV Jody's excitement for shopping was gone, and we dropped him and the TV off at home and headed to Lifeway. The crowds are much different at a Christian bookstore then most stores on this crazy shopping day . . .there were plenty of "excuse me's" and "thank you's". I got a couple of good movies for $5 including "Veggie Tales" and "Facing the Giants". After Lifeway we went to breakfast and then headed to mom and dad's.
Mom and I then headed to pick up Autumn from her mom's and then to my grandma's to help her decorate!
Autumn was a great help as always!

Here is a cute picture of Brodie.
Friday night we went to Leatherby's for an ice cream date with Autumn. It was a promised reward that she earned. She had the biggest banana split. The kids size is more than enough for two adults to share!!!
Saturday we went to my mom's to help her decorate (sorry, no pictures, I forgot to take my camera). By Saturday night I was beat. I was glad our only plans for Sunday involved going to church. Sunday we just relaxed, watched a movie, read, went for a walk and got ready for the upcoming week. Autumn spent a couple hours playing with her new doll house, and we got her all ready to get back to school today (she was off the entire month of November).
And so with 24 days until Christmas, I anxiuosly await the activities of the coming weeks!!!
Serving Him,
Jess
