While dinner was being made the girls decided to sled down the stairs in their sleeping bags! While I thought this was a great idea for them . . . I was not so sure when they started pulling us into it!!!

Of course I was not able to get video of me going down the stairs (although there are plenty of witnesses) I did get video of a couple of the other moms. I apologize that it is sideways . . .but I think you get the point!
Next the girls played a game called "Sixes". This was part of the "lesson". The game involves the girls getting kind of aggressive and stealing a pen from each other in order to win. It was fun to watch them play and they did get aggressive!!!

Then the girls were forced to be sweet and draw pictures on each others pillow cases that described each girl in an encouraging way. It was so neat to see each girl think about how they could encourage every other girl.
Then the girls went around the table and the other girls got to describe what they drew and why.

After we were done with the pillows we split up into mother/daughter teams and discussed the topic of being a good friend. Comparing the aggressive game and the sweet pillows, we talked about being a selfless vs. a selfish friend.
And what is a sleepover without a pillow fight??? The girls were ruthless!

We were all surprised to be in bed by 11:30 on Friday night. With a big day ahead on Saturday, the girls wanted their beauty sleep (and I was happy to oblige).
The end result was a red eye on one girl, and large red mark the length of another girls face and some VERY messy hair!

Saturday we had breakfast and got all dressed up for a fun day of tubing!

This is the best kind of sledding out there!!! A tow rope pulls you to the top of the hill and you sled down on nice cushiony tubes that don't hurt your back and butt with every bump!

Haylee and Wendy teamed up for a trip down the hill!

Here is Haylee on the tow rope . . .going up!

After 2 hours of tubing and lunch, we packed up and headed home! The whole trip could not have been more fun! I can't wait for date #2!!!!

Haylee is becoming a beautiful young lady and I am so proud of her! I pray, pray, pray that she will make wise choices in friends as she goes into her teenage years! This is an area of much heartache for me. With her living at her moms house (who is a good mom, but does not have the convictions I have about teenagers, their friends, dating etc.) I worry that as emotions start flying Haylee will be sucked into the worlds standards. I pray she will stay right in the wings of the Father as she navigates her way through her teenage years!!!
Serving Him,
