Happy 10th Birthday, Autumn!

Surprise!! I am back! So much for my New Years resolution to get back to blogging! Oh well, I digress!

This weekend we celebrated Autumn's 10th birthday with a "Cake Boss" themed party! I am addicted to a little site called Pinterest and it has done bad things to my all ready overly zealous planning mind! I spent weeks preparing for this party. Trips to Michael's and Joann's almost daily to use a coupon, purchase a single item and collect all the supplies needed to pull off such an event. Friday night my sweet sis-in-law helped me slave away in the kitchen baking 12 cakes for Saturday's party!

At 1pm on Saturday the doors to the bake shop opened and the girls had a blast decorating. I have to say, I am amazed that this party took so long to put together and it was over in the blink of an eye! Here is how it went down:

Step 1: Girls decorate their chef hats and apronsStep 2: Girls decorate their cakes with an assortment of colored frosting, candy molds and sprinkles.

Step 3: Haylee and Autumn sacrifice their cakes for the good of the whole group and they dug in!

Step 4: Open presents
Step 5: The girls disappear into the basement to play with the newly opened presents. All the girls loved the party - mission accomplished! Now I am rushing to finish up plans for Christmas goodness - which include RACK (25 days of Random Acts of Christmas Kindness Calendar - an advent where every day the girls are assigned a RACK task to complete), ABC coupons (stocking stuffers which include 25 coupons of different things to do - including gift cards for ice cream, roller skating etc.) and all the typical holiday traditions!

Since this summer Haylee has been on an every other week schedule at our house - and it has been wonderful. We get to spend so much more time with her and the activities I want to do are not nearly as rushed. I still have to do some rearranging (for example we put up Christmas decorations last night so Haylee could participate), but overall, it has been so nice to spread things out a bit more.

I can't promise, but I will try super hard to post again before next summer!!

Serving Him,

Jess
