So, tonight the girls and I looked through the old blog posts and had a total blast reading about all the cute things they have said and done throughout the years. I would be lying to say that I didn't regret keeping up on the blog. Knowing nearly two years have gone by with no blog entries to remind us of the great things we have done. Life gets busy and keeping up with a blog seems hard, but I really would like to do it, if for nothing else, to have a journal of sorts as the girls continue to grow and mature in to the women God intended them to be.
So much has happened in two years it would be impossible to catch it all up, but for the record, I would like to highlight a few things. One thing we have definitely done over the past few years is travel more. In June 2011 we took the girls on a fabulous surprise trip to Las Vegas. We had a total blast.
In August 2011, Jody and I met Jeremy and Julie in San Francisco and had a blast exploring the city together.
In October 2011 we went to Brian Head, Utah with my parents and Matt and Kristie!!
2012 brought bigger trips and I loved every minute of it. Jody and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with an amazing trip to Playa Del Carmen in May.
In August we took our first BIG road trip and met up with Jeremy, Julie and their kids in Branson, MO.
In November 2012 we took a much shorter road trip with my family to Moab, Utah.
A majority of the items on my bucket list involve going places and I love taking the girls along on come of those adventures. This year we have taken a step back and only have a couple small trips as we work on paying off the list bit of our debt so we can be 100% debt free. In May Jody and I went to Vegas for a few days with another couple, Amy and Kelly.
We are so close to being debt free I can just feel the freedom. Once we finish paying that last bill off, I want to take at least one fabulous trip with the girls!!!
Speaking of the girls they have been sprouting in to amazing young ladies. Haylee is 14 and will be in 9th grade this year. She continues to bring us much joy. She is a great kid, awesome student and lover of Jesus - what more can we ask for?!?! Autumn is 11 a straight A student and an amazing athlete. Both of the girls bless our lives!!
This is my attempt to get back on track, documenting this life and adventure God has blessed us with!!
Serving Him,
Jess
