Just a Bunch of Stuff . . .

Well, we had a house guest for a few days. My cousins went out of town and asked us to watch their little dog Paris . . . she was fun to have around (although Kitty didn't think so). Paris is a snuggle bug . . .

She loved to cuddle up in the living room with us and watch TV.
Friday morning Autumn had a flag ceremony and she asked me to come watch. She had a one line speaking part and did a great job! We got up a little early so we could curl her hair all cute for the occasion!

You can barely see Autumn. She is front and center and has a turquoise sweater over a white shirt on.
Here she is at the microphone saying her part. This picture turned out a little dark . . .
Friday afternoon brought a long awaited event. Haylee and I had our first date out of The Secret Keeper Girl series we are doing. The first date took us out for tea. I booked an afternoon tea time at the Grand America . . .the nicest hotel in Salt Lake. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. We had a 3-tiered tray with 5 types of finger sandwiches (cucumber, ham, turkey, humus and egg salad), English scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and raspberry perseveres and for dessert Haylee had coconut cake and strawberries with whipped cream. For dessert I had 3 French pastries and strawberries with whipped cream. We did cheat a little and did not have tea, but had coconut almond hot chocolate that was soooo yummy.
Our lesson for the date talked about how God puts much detail and work into creating us into a precious and delicate tea cup. We compared the china we were served on to being served in a styrofoam cup or ceramic mug and how much nicer the china was. I told her that like the china, God has created her perfect and beautiful and just the way He wanted her. The whole adventure was very fun and one we will not soon forget (It was the ultimate tea party). Here is a picture of us . . .
We are both looking forward to next months date . . . facials!!!
Sunday afternoon the girls and I bought stuff to make their Valentine's Day boxes. Haylee will be off track for Valentine's Day, so her class is celebrating it on Tuesday, January 27th. Haylee wanted to make her "box" look like a Pepsi can . . .here is the finished product.

Autumn's is going to be a castle, but since it is still a few weeks away, we are still working on hers! Haylee picked out really cute Valentines that say "God Loves You" and have a Bible verse on them. Autumn got Spongebob Valentine's.
The girls started Missionette's this last Sunday . . . it is an alternative to Girl Scouts (because I do not agree with many of the issues they support). They both loved it! They will get to earn badges and go to camp etc. but they will be learning about God and memorizing Bible verses.

In other news . . . I purchased tickets for the Houston Rodeo today. We are going to see Broooks & Dunn and ZZ Top. Taylor Swift is sold out, but a friend of mine might be bale to get Julie and I in free for a girls night out . . .we wont know for sure until the end of February. I am so excited to go!!!
Serving Him,
Jess
