The Case of the Missing Bracelet . . .

I am exhausted. We had suach a busy weekend . . . but it was fun! Friday afternoon I went to my mom's house where birthday preperation was all ready in full swing. We had baked the cake on Thursday and froze it (a great technique I learned with Autumn's cake, which makes it easier to frost. Here are some cake pics . . .

Since we did a mystery party, I thought a maginfying glass cake would be cute. Mom helped with the fingerprint, outline and writing Haylee's name on it.

Here is mom working on the second english scone recipe. The first recipe turned out like hard, little biscuits. Round two worked much better.

Here is the table all set for the girls to enjoy their lunch and tea. Since this all took place at an "estate" we really went all out. Mom even let the girls use her china!

When the girls first arrived, (chauffered by Chauncey, play by Jody) they were sent to the "library" to play games while Dame Sarah took a nap.

After the games, Marty (played by Matt) and his "sidekick", Taylor (played by Kristie) escorted and served the girls lunch in the dining room.

Lunch consisted of finger sandwiches, fresh fruit with whipped cream and english scones with preserves and lemon curd.

After lunch the mystery began to find the missing bracelet. They girls played along well, even talking with little accents.

Script books and a few adult promptings helped lead the girls through a crazy set of clues trying to find out what happened to the missing bracelet. In the end, Dame Sarah, had placed it in an envelope to give to Sam, her great granddaughter!
The girls seemed to have fun with the whole thing!

Next we moved to the presents. Haylee got a digital camera, with case and memory card, scrapbboking stuff, a new outfit, iTunes gift card and more. Here are a couple pics . . .

Here is Haylee opening her camera. She gets WAY excited about things!!!!

Next, it was time for cake and ice cream.

This picture makes me laugh . . .they all look so bored, as if the birthday song is sooooooo long!!!

After cake and ice cream, the girls played for a bit, before heading to their respective homes. After cleaning up, we headed home and I vegged the rest of the night. I was BEAT!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped with the party! I could not have pulled it off without your help!!!!

Sunday night was the big Pinewood Derby Race. Here are the pictures (as promised in the last post) of dad helping Haylee with her car.

Haylee's car did really well in the race, taking 2nd place! She won a couple races, but overall she took 2nd. She was so excited!!!
Here is Haylee receiving her ribbon!!! Originally I thought that Autumn's class was not participating in the event, but later found out they were, and for whatever reason, Autumn told them she didn't want to do it. The night was lots of fun!!!

Looks like Jody and I are heading to St. George again this weekend, without the girls. We are going to see Jody's dad and help him with a few things he wants to get taken care of. Pray for open doors to share the love of Jesus with Mark!!!

Serving Him,
Jess
