Well we made it to Texas and sadly, we are back!!! Wednesday was a stressful day with not knowing which planes we would get on, then having trouble renting a car when we finally got to Dallas. We got all that behind us and got to Jeremy and Julie's about 10pm on
Wednesday night. About midnight Jeremy and Jody made there way to dreamland . . .but having 9 months to catch up on, Julie and I stayed up until 5am talking.
On Thursday we hung out at the house all morning and in the afternoon, Jody and I headed to
Kingwood and spent a little time in my old office seeing my good friends there. Then we took the rental car back and Jeremy picked us up. On our way home Jeremy stopped and got us some
crawfish, so Jody could try them for the first time . . .

I checked the little guys out to make sure they were good!!!

Jeremy put a plastic cover over the counter and dumped them out!

Here is Jody disgusted at the peeling process needed to extract the delicious meat from the tiny little body shells!!!

Jody eating his first
crawfish . . .he wasn't too impressed!!!
Friday we hung out at Jeremy and Julie's again, until the evening. Julie and I had girls night out at the Rodeo, where we saw Taylor Swift in concert! Of the 3 concerts we went to, she was my favorite (we also saw Brooks & Dunn and
ZZ Top)!
This concert was packed with standing room only . . .over 73,000 people packed in Reliant Stadium for this show!!
Julie and I got home after midnight! We had to rest up quick as Saturday brought a full day of the Rodeo . . .here are some fun pictures of the day!

I am guessing I have been to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo more than 30 times and I am still blown away by the size of the building and all that goes on in and around it. Here is Reliant Stadium from the outside.

And the inside ~

This stadium was built for 2 purposes - football and the rodeo and it is an amazing building!

Fireworks during the National Anthem!

On the top of my list of favorite Rodeo treats in a turkey leg. These smoked goodies are so full of flavor and make me feel like a
Flinstone!

During the Grand Entry Parade, the Texas flag shines bright with a spotlight on it!
"Howdy" is the rodeo mascot . . . here he is during the grand entry!

Every night 28 kids participate in the calf scramble. 14 calves are up for grabs and everyone who gets one, gets a
heifer to take home and raise and bring back to next years show!

Here are the
chuckwagon races!!!

Here is a cute picture of Jeremy and Julie at the rodeo!

And Jody and I!

This is me with Leon Coffee. Leon has been a rodeo clown every year that I have been to the rodeo (I started going in 2003). He was kind enough to pause long enough to take a picture with me! I was so excited!!!!!
Here is a little video of bull riding!

As we left Rodeo Houston for the final time on Sunday, I took this great picture outside of the stadium!
On top of the rodeo, we also had fun seeing Brooklyn and Parker! Jody loves Parker and Parker seems to be taking a liking to Jody!

Brooklyn wasn't sure about Jody at first, but she warmed up to him!

Brooklyn sure has grown since we last saw her. She is SUPER cute!!!!
We are home now, back in snowy, cold Utah. I was not ready to come back! I so miss Texas! Jody and I would love to return for Rodeo Houston 2010, we will see what the next year brings!!!
Serving Him,
Jess
