State Fair News . . .

It is Monday morning and I am far from ready to start a new week! We had a terrific weekend though!!! Saturday afternoon we spent and "adult only" day at the State Fair. It is always fun to take the girls and do things with them, but it is nice to go places and do the adult thing and not have to entertain kids too! Mom, Dad, Jody, Matt and I headed to the fair early afternoon on Saturday (we missed Kristie . . .she was attending her sister's bridal shower). I got a few fun pictures of the day!

First, I have to tell you that Jody's new obsession is making homemade salsa. We kidnapped the food processor from Jody's mom and it has been busy making salsa for the last two weeks. As we walked through the booths at the fair, Jody was mesmerized by one of the booths that sold "The Ultimate Salsa Maker"!
After a short demo, he decided that his salsa maker was better . . .although he did pick up a couple tricks on what order to blend each ingredient in. He put his newly acquired knowledge to work on Sunday afternoon . . .making a fresh batch of Salsa!

Matt has been a owner of a Little Giant Ladder for several years and thanks to hours of infomercial reruns, he has "spill" memorized (trust me, I have seen it played out in his drive way)! When we were on our way to the fair Matt made a comment about the Little Giant booth (that is present every year). He was hoping they would be doing a demo and need a volunteer!!! Well it just so happened that when we walked up to the booth, the sales guy was on a break and two older gentlemen were looking at the ladders. Matt regurgitated the infomercial so well that the men were convinced Matt worked for Little Giant!!!

Of course, the only real way to demonstrate the strength of the scaffolding attachment, is to have 4 grown men stand on it!!!

We walked through all the exhibits (including the world's smallest horse (so small you can walk it like a dog) and the Giant Alligator). One thing that caught our attention . . . apparently Victoria's Secret has a new line . . .for sheep!!!

Dad pointed out that while all the other sheep were wearing cap-like attire, this sheep had it goin on!!

Saturday night we got to puppy sit for my cousins!!! They got a new puppy, that looks like a little fur ball! His name is Cubbie and he is the cutest dang thing! We almost didn't give him back.

Little Cubbie was lots of fun to play with!!!
Saturday Jody and I sent Haylee a little vase with three roses in it and an invitation for SKG date #8 which is this Friday! I am soooo excited for this date. Haylee was so surprised about the flowers! When I talked to her on the phone she was going on about how she got to sign for them and she was so surprised with the "Flower Patch" truck drove up! She is so funny!
Sunday Autumn went to a friends birthday party, so Jody and I went on a little date to the movies and spent the day together, it was much fun!

Well, it is time to get on with the week!
Serving Him,
Jess
