Affirmation of Beauty . . .

It started a week ago when we sent Haylee a vase with 3 roses in it and an invitation to join Jody and I on a very special date! She was sooo excited when the flowers were delivered and she got to sign for them :o).

Friday night Jody and I took Haylee on the last SKG (Secret Keeper Girl) date of this series, and this year. This last date was to bring all that we had learned together and have dad affirm her in her beauty (both externally and internally). This date took place in a nice restaurant called "Epic". We got all dressed up and headed out!!!

We gave Haylee a special little gift . . . A James Avery necklace with a locked heart charm on it. Jody told her that the heart represented her heart and for now, it is locked. Then we showed her another charm called "Key to my heart". Jody told her that for now he holds the key to her heart, and one day when a man asks for her hand in marriage, if Jody blesses the marriage, he will give that man the key to her heart. Needless to say, we were all a bit teary eyed after that!!!

The meals were outstanding. Haylee had seared salmon with green beans and herbed mashed potatoes. I had pork tenderloin with caramelized onions, Au Gratin potatoes and green beans and Jody had seared beef tenderloin (the was the most tender piece of meat I have ever had) with green beans and mashed potatoes.

For dessert we ordered chocolate cake with ice cream and an apple crisp made with their homemade flat bread! The whole night was awesome, and one we won't soon forget!!

Haylee and I are done with our SKG dates until January when we will begin a new series. The next series is about friendship!!! I am way excited for this one!!! Haylee has a tendency to want to follow the crowd and that often means high drama in the friend department!!! Together with 4 other mother/daughter teams, we are going to tackle the subject of true Godly friendships in an attempt to help the girls chose the right friends! Our first date is all ready set for the middle of January!!! We will be heading up to a Park City condo for a big sleepover bash with the other moms and daughters . . .I can't wait!!!
Fall is in the air and I can see all sorts of colors on the mountain as the leaves change!! In two weeks we are planning to take the girls on a hike so we can see all the gorgeous colors (it is the only thing I like about this time of year). The high on Wednesday is supposed to be 58 . . . I may have to put the flip flops away soon (UGH). I will hold on to them as long as I can :o)
