Day One . . .

Well Autumn went off track on Friday. She is out of school the entire month of December!!! This is the first time she has been off track since I started working at home. She is a child who like to be entertained constantly and I have been really worried about her time off. Knowing that I can not (nor do I want to) entertain her every minute of the day, I have been worried that I would be pulling hair out by the time she goes back to school!
Yesterday was day one . . . and it went well. Autumn helped me clean the house, then played the Wii while I did a little work. Then we went to the library to meet Winifred the elf and listen to stories! Winifred told us the history behind many of the types of ornaments we hang on the Christmas tree. She asked for Autumn's help a couple times. As she told stories about the ornaments, she would ask kids to put an ornament on the tree. She asked Autumn to put bows on the tree.
Then she asked Autumn to be her kitchen helper and dressed her up like a cowboy elf!!

She had to help put sugar in all the kids bags for the reindeer food they made (it consisted of sugar, oats and sprinkles).

Autumn was one of the oldest kids there, but she said she had fun, and would do it again! After checking a few books out, we headed home!
Today is Day 2 . . . with a blizzard brewing outside, I think we will make palm tree shaped sugar cookies!!! Days 3, 4 and 5 Autumn will be going with her mom during the day, so I will try and get my work for the week done then :o)!!
Serving Him,
Jess
