Christmas, Christmas Time is Here . . .

We had a super fun and super busy weekend!!  With an every other weekend schedule, we find ourselves cramming every Christmas tradition into one weekend.  It started out on Friday night with my most favorite tradition of going to Hale Center Theater for "A Christmas Carol".  This year was my 10th year seeing it.  I love seeing it every year.  They do a good job of changing little things up, so it's always a little different.  Also, we had front row seats this year - I kind of liked it as it allowed me to see/notice things that I don't, normally.  Since Haylee is still on hiatus, we let Autumn take a friend (tickets were purchased months ago, so we had an extra).  Autumn took her friend Maddy - a VERY spunky and lovable friend.

Maddy and Autumn outside the theater.

Hale Center Theater is in the round and there really isn't a bad seat in the house!

A kind lady took a picture of the whole group!

Saturday morning Autumn, Kristie and I headed to moms for a full day of baking!!  We made toffee, cookies, peanut butter balls and mom made a few dozen loaves of pumpkin chocolate chip bread.  I love these goodies, but it's good we only do it once a year.

Sunday was on to another favorite tradition.  One that dates back to my much younger years!  Christmas BINGO is always a fun night of family time.  The last two years Autumn hasn't hardly won, at all . . . this year she made up for it.  She won 4 or 5 times.  Later she told me she felt like she was stealing for winning so may gifts.  Haha!

In pet news - Paisley was sick Saturday night and Sunday morning.  I am not sure what was wrong with her (neither was the vet).  She was shaking and whimpering and was really lethargic.  Not eating or drinking.  By Monday morning she was back to normal and has been fine ever since.  Sunday night, I noticed that Kitty had an upset tummy and it seems she still does.  She has taken a liking to Paisley's food, so I have totally eliminated that to see if that is the problem.  Fingers crossed that it is!!

Tomorrow, Paisley goes in to have her lady parts removed.  Poor little bugger . . .I hate when pets are sick or have to have surgery!  Here is to a quick and easy recovery for both fur babies!!!

Apparently Haylee is also not having the best week.  According to Twitter (the only way I ever know what is going on in her life) she broke her hand.  I have no idea how, because neither her or her mom can call or text and let us know that it has even happened (until the doctor bill comes, of course).  I will be honest, I am feeling a little bitter, right now.  The whole reason Haylee isn't coming over is because our rules are too hard for her . . . but she can't call or text EVER!!!!  Literally the ONLY times she has said a word to me is when I reach out to her first.  In a way, I get that - I am the adult, more mature, logical etc.  But really, she can't even say "hi" once a week!?!?!?!?  Then for her to break her hand and she doesn't even tell us.  I continue to learn and understand my place.  Haylee doesn't just not like our rules, it is obvious that she has no desire to have any kind of relationship with us.  I am more at a loss with every passing day and incident.

Serving Him,
Jess
